Carpark Upgrades

DEKACON was engaged by NSW NPWS to upgrade the pre-existing Tallow Beach carpark situated in Arakwal National Park.

Within 3km from the heart of popular tourist destination Byron Bay, the upgrade included the following works within a highly visible and public setting

Place safety controls to allow for tourist and beach goers to utilise areas of the carpark during works
Clear drainage outlets and rock line
Install root guard to prevent asphalt cracking / failure
Mill, prepare and place asphalt to NSW specification
Add traffic management speed humps
Add provision for disability carpark and sign accordingly
Complete all carpark line marking
Install bollards to prevent vehicular beach access
Upgrade beach shower facilities including installation of drainage grates and pipework
Reinstate carpark for public use
