Carpark Upgrades

DEKACON was engaged by NSW NPWS to upgrade the pre-existing Tallow Beach carpark situated in Arakwal National Park.

Within 3km from the heart of popular tourist destination Byron Bay, the upgrade included the following works within a highly visible and public setting

  • Place safety controls to allow for tourist and beach goers to utilise areas of the carpark during works
  • Clear drainage outlets and rock line
  • Install root guard to prevent asphalt cracking / failure
  • Mill, prepare and place asphalt to NSW specification
  • Add traffic management speed humps
  • Add provision for disability carpark and sign accordingly
  • Complete all carpark line marking
  • Install bollards to prevent vehicular beach access
  • Upgrade beach shower facilities including installation of drainage grates and pipework
  • Reinstate carpark for public use
