We are currently seeking a skilled Diesel Fitter Mechanic to join our team. The successful candidate will need experience working on mobile plant and earth moving equipment. The role will require after hours call outs and the ability to work under time critical pressure to problem solve and get equipment up and operating to limit downtime. Based out of our Lismore depot the candidate will be expected to drive to and from the depot in our service truck to multiple sites and locations to work on equipment. Experience working on road pavement and associate plant is highly desired however training will be provided to gain a firm understanding of these machines.

Responsibilities Include:

• Undertake vehicle/plant and equipment repairs and maintenance activities to ensure reliability
• Hydraulic systems knowledge
• Fulfilling vehicle/plant and equipment maintenance and scheduled service requirements
• Maintaining monitoring and reporting systems as required
• Responding to, investigating and repairing vehicle defects as notified by drivers/operators
• Maintain a safe and tidy workshop area, mobile unit
• Being available for breakdown and service callouts as required

What you need:

• A trade qualification and experience as a Diesel Fitter/Mechanic
• Basic auto-electrical experience
• Hydraulic hose repair experience
• Ability to carry out vehicle inspections/ maintenance on heavy vehicles in accordance with specifications
• Safety focused with the ability to work independently and as part of a small team
• A current MR/HR licence and/or Forklift licence would be highly regarded but not essential
